We're Getting Married!

We are so excited to be getting married. Dating for the past 5 years has been a wonderful adventure but neither of us can wait for the adventures God has for us during our lifetime of marriage. We hope you will be there to enjoy our special day with us.

~Sincerely,
Becky & Barrett

About the Groom
Barrett James Black
Barrett grew up in Austin. He graduated from Austin College in Sherman last May with a degree in Economics and a minor in Psychology. After graduation he spent the summer in Colorado with the Training Ground program. Now he is living in Austin and working with his family's business.
According to Becky:
Barrett is a wonderful man! He and I have so many similarities (as my sister says that we are boy and girl versions of each other) but we complement one another well with our differences. Barrett is a wonderful listener and always knows just the way to support me. He encourages and helps me to grow into a better person. One of his best qualities is that he is wonderful with people, always caring and helping others. Barrett loves the outdoors and doing things like fly fishing, hiking, and camping (hence the registering at REI).

How We Met

Laity Lodge Youth Camp, Summer 2003
We met at Laity Lodge Youth Camp, where we both went as campers and worked. It was a very fun summer getting to know each other. After that summer, we kept in touch. I asked Becky to my prom and from that point we have been officially together.

Popping the Question

October 3rd, 2008
~We drove out to LLYC and stopped at Bear Moon Bakery on the way. We were on Circle Bluff and Becky said yes w/o hesitation. My sister Kara organized a wonderful party afterwards where we were able to share the joy with family and friends.
